Recognizing Pet Emergencies

What classifies as a “pet emergency?” If you notice any of the following symptoms, seek immediate medical attention for your pet.

  1. Uncontrollable vomiting or vomiting blood
  2. Consistently bloody feces or diarrhea
  3. Extreme lethargy
  4. Wounds of any kind or uncontrollable bleeding
  5. Trouble breathing or Choking
  6. Toxin or Drug Ingestion
  7. Seizures
  8. Obvious pain
  9. Collapse or Inability to move or walk

If you are still unsure whether your pet should be seen by a veterinarian, call your primary veterinary clinic or local emergency center for advice.
